Established in 1992, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Foundation is mandated to motivate, encourage, facilitate, and support the private sector for promotion of college education. In addition, the Foundation has also been authorized to establish or cause to establish educational institutions and allied projects in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.

Since inception, the Foundation has provided financial assistance worth 469.37 M million including grant of Rs. 22.35 million to 160 private sector educational institutions for development and improvement of infrastructural facilities. Besides this, the Foundation has disbursed Rs. 216.50 million as scholarships to poor students to support them to continue studies. It is also focusing on human resource development (HRD) in education sector and for this purpose, an Academy has been established which organizes training courses for improvement of professional skills of college teachers and other staff. As many as 99 courses & workshops have been held so far in which 3080 including 1305 female have been imparted training.

To narrow the huge gap in female education, the KPEF was established 16 degree colleges for girls in the Province which were handed over to Higher Education Department along with staff on deputation in April 2017. The Govt of Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa is providing quality higher education to girl students of poor sections of society at affordable cost. Various Board & University examination results and independent surveys show that KPEF Colleges are providing quality education to the satisfaction of students and their parents.

This confidence of people is not only a matter of pride for us but also serves as encouragement and prompts us to do better. Conscious of our responsibilities, the functionaries of KPEF are committed to make all out efforts to promote education in order to help prepare the nation for the challenges of the 21st Century. Education is an important factor which catalyzes social change in a society. To this end we need to develop high standards of ethical, social, economic and scientific values. This desire will remain unfulfilled if we do not strive hard through a well-motivated and disciplined approach. The ideology of Pakistan for which our forefathers gave great sacrifices should remain our focus. Our faculty should endeavor to equip our students with high moral standards so as to enable them to become responsible and productive citizens.

We all pray to Allah Subhanaho-wa-Taallah to give us the determination to realize these objectives.
